Barcelona is a Spanish city, capital of the autonomous community of Catalonia. It is a really wonderful place, my first impression was spectacular, since I did not know what I expected when I arrived and I liked it so much that I have lived here for the last 4 years. One of the characteristics that I respect the most in this city is the cultural exchange that is present at every step you take. You walk quietly the street and on the way you hear at least 5 different languages and that is “so cool”.
Main tourists destination
Barcelona receives 12 million tourists a year, being one of the most beloved cities in all of Europe and it is not for less if the temperature it has even in the winter months, does not compare with how cold the rest of neighboring countries can be . There are options for all tastes, good restaurants, many discos, hotels, art, dance and the plus of all this, it has a beach. If you like sand, beach bars, beach and passing sports you fancy some cold beers the barceloneta is your best option, it has a very extensive promenade where you can enjoy the summer days in the best way. The Catalan-born Barcelona is spoken, they have their own language and are currently the residents of one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world..
If you go deeper into the heart of the city you have to visit the alleys of Born. There are many shops and places where you can have a coffee at ease, it has the Picasso museum, terraces and vendors of everything you can imagine. After that you can go to the center of the city, the famous Plaza Cataluña, full of pigeons and buses that go to all directions, apart you can be calm that it is a very safe city that despite the pickpockets, there are police everywhere. There are tourist buses if you want to see more, I recommend them because if you do not know the city well it can be a bit complex the first time you visit it, there is also the subway that is super easy to use, there are only 4 lines so it is a Fast and economy transport option, unlike Paris (for example) since the subway is extremely complicated because it has many lines.
Gracia, the Sagrada Familia and Gaudí
If you are a fashion lover, Paseo de Gracia is your place, since being beautiful, you find all the famous designer stores and the plus that Gracia has is that there you can visit Batlló and La Pedrera, both works of the architect Antonio Gaudí, maximum representative of Catalan modernism. There are more works to visit by Gaudí, whether the holy family (my favorite) lived in this neighborhood for a year. It is a church with more than 200 years of construction and it is said that it will be finished by 2026 and will become the tallest building in all of Europe, surpassing the Eiffel tower and positioning itself as one of the wonders of the world. And last but not least, Güell Park, since it is a reflection of Gaudí’s artistic fullness, belongs to its naturalistic stage. That data has left you impressed and awake more your desire to know this beautiful city. My dream: a Mediterranean Barcelona, beautiful, great … To be a channel for Beauty to be the glow of truth, to discover all its secrets in the laws of the Universe. – Gaudí
A few days ago I was visiting with my friend the famous Carmel bunkers. We prepare with a wine, grapes, cheeses and olives that I love so much. We arrived at the place finding endless tourists, all gathered enjoying a great view of the entire city. It was a good moment of inspiration.
Curious fact
A curious fact about this city in Europe, is that cannabis use is “allegal” so there are endless associations, in which you pay a membership to be a member of it. Within them you find cafeteria, people, music life, djs etc. It is a recreational area where you can sit and smoke and create friendships with people from all over the world. Incredible! But true, this is Barcelona.
Recommendations of restaurants that I like:
Robata Restaurant: It’s Japones-Grill, in Enrique Granados street, the food is delicious and I love the atmosphere of the place. Dim lights, good music and the service is wonderful, take a sangria for me.
Escribà Restaurant: Bogatell beach, Mediterranean food, prepare the best paellas. 100% recommended .
La Fonda Paisa Restaurant: Av. Diagonal, Colombian food, simply delicious. If you mention my name they make you discount!
Barcelona city restaurant: This is located in the center of the city, near Plaza Cataluña. It is tapas and this great, I love it for any time but especially for breakfast, how delicious, I already wanted some pissed off eggs in the best style of the motherland.
SIngular cafeteria: It is located right next to the holy family, the perfect place to eat and have “meetings”. I am a star customer of this site so if you visit it, say that you are going from me.
Take care of yourself and I pray you always be happy…
